Deb n' Sharon's TNT Mid-Life Marathon!

WE DID IT!!! With the loving support of friends and family, we will be completing our first marathon in less than 2 weeks. Thank you, Thank you to EVERYONE who helped along the way, no matter how small you may have thought your part was. The support has been phenomenal, and we thank you all.

Our hearts and prayers are still going out to the many victims, families, and friends of those closely affected by the events of September 11th. Our hearts are also going out to another victim, of Leukemia, our friend and honoree patient, 15 yr old Caitlyn Rossi. Neither Sharon or I had ever imagined participating in a Marathon... But it's happening, on December 9th, on Caitlyn's behalf. Caitlyn has not been as fortunate as my own healthy teen... she has been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, which is a tumor on her spine. She is close to the end of
her chemotherapy and radiation treatments

I donated to Team In Training several years ago for a friend, and the thought of participating myself kind of stayed in the back of my mind. Nearing the the half-century mark, it's now or never! I am SO committed to doing this I was able to convince Sharon (who USED to be my best friend until I got her into this!!! :) to join me. Together, we have a goal of raising $9,000 on Caitlyn's behalf, and would like your help. Raising that much money will be quite a challenge, as will the actual Marathon, but our challenge is nothing compared to what Caitlyn faces each and every day. We will post photos as we get them, and update our progress as funds are raised....Thanks for checking in, and thanks for helping out!!

As a post script to this original mission, we are now also completing the challenge in memory of Ruby Taylor, the wife of a colleague who, sadly, passed away on Tuesday, July 10th, after losing her 9 month battle with leukemia.
